This from Tyler Tobolt:
Crystal Lake has purchased (2) Pierce Velocity PUC engines expected in 2028. They currently run with 2022 Rosenbauer Commander engines.Once the new engines arrive they will put (2) of the (3) Rosenbauer engines in reserve and get rid of the current (2) reserve engines.Crystal Lake also made this comment in the board minutes about their Rosenbauer engines.“Both current Rosenbauer units have spent several months out-of-service due to repairs and maintenance issues; they have yet to be repaired properly and we have had little response from Rosenbauer on repair options”

Mike D, I don’t know how that’ll work, but all fire engines come with a pump. So what you’re suggesting doesn’t make sense.

Mike D Strong statement thrown down with regard to Crystal lakes ops. Care to elaborate?

What engine did they spec the Rosenbauers with that is so underpowered?

Crystal Lake should consider ordering the Engines without pumps because do not do interior firefighting. I bet they’d save like $90k on the price.

It doesn’t help that Crystal Lake spec’d the Rosenbauer engines with very underpowered engines. The guys won’t know what to do with all the power, going from a very underpowered Rosenbauer to a big block Velocity.
Crystal Lake needs to put the hammer down and demand their rigs get fixed properly! They paid good money for these rigs and they should last for several years. What a shame.
