Squad 7s old heavy rescue is a spare rig, either 5-1-2 or Squad 7 use it depending on it’s availability when they need it.

Are the Pierce heavy rescue and Ford mini pumper still spares for squad 7? Also I saw the Pierce 10S at rescue 3 a few days ago and it’s got 136k mile on it now but is going like a champ

This thing is junk. It’ll take over $15,000 in tires, drive line components, brakes, batteries, and whatever else. No, the ad does not mention tires but it’s going to need tires.

Well I guess I stand corrected. I had no idea that it was a reserve for 23 years. Oh well.

That rig has been OOS for some time. It was taken out of front line service in 2000 when the Pierce engines came. It served as a spare engine and spare squad for Squad 7 until the new E Ones came a few years ago. This and Engine 10’s rig had the 50′ mid mount version of E One’s squrt.

I was just gonna something to that effect. Or someone could fix it up a bit and make a nice parade piece out of it. 31 years is a nice long service life.
