MABAS 21 the Quinn will be kept by the department for possibly EMS and Air Sea Rescue Training. The building can not be torn down due to the historical status. Academy South is going to be taken completely over by the public Safety Administration.

Does anyone know what will be the fate of the Quinn Academy building?

Dennis, the bldg no longer holds migrants as there are already promotional classes being held at the new academy. Eric, the FDNY has a huge mini city that they train on so now we will have one. Hopefully this will make for more realistic training.

Sad to say Dennis but I think you’re right. All of this cop hatred out there has claimed another fun and interesting family event to showcase old and new apparatus and police meet and greet. Not saying that musters won’t be held in more sane areas of America but around the Milwaukee and Chicago area, you may as well forget about that for a while anyway. But then again, anyone can look at fire apparatus pictures whenever you want but it’s still not the same as being at a muster.

Can’t wait to see the candidate classes (both CFD and CPD) doing their training runs down Chicago Avenue like Rahmbo promised. Wonder if everybody gets body armor or they just have to sprint for cover every few blocks.

Crabby this is no way a safe area to hold any type of muster. Aidan The current building is housing the immigrants from Texas, there no way this will be ready for the spring.

Eric it looks very similar to what ny has. Except theirs are copies of their common buildings.

Looks like an interesting plan. Would be a great site for future musters if they should ever come back.

Do any other cities have anything similar? I would think this would be a great training tool but wonder if any other city has already tried it and what their experiences have been. Hope the city doesn’t mess it up.

Phase 2 is currently under construction right now. Officials told me the new training center is slated to open in the Spring of this year.
