Those KME’s were unique in a way that I believe they had a Cat C9 Agricultural engine in them. I don’t think they were entirely bad rigs, but the Cat motors didn’t prove to be the most reliable.

In 2021 RPI Renewed Performance, Inc did a complete refurb of one of the KME Engines which was E143, they did the following complete disassembly, frame rails repairs, body repairs, new updated seating, LED lighting updates, generator overhaul to current NFPA standard. A photo of the engine can be found on the facebook page of RPI October 2021

They bought 2 KME’s then a Ferrara engine and tower ladder. I don’t think the KME held up well for them. They didn’t last very long.

A-LITH currently has
T181 (2016 Pierce Arrow XT 105′ Heavy-Duty Steel Aerial Ladder)
E142 Ex. E141 (2010 Ferrara Ignitor MVP 1500/750/30)
E143 (2019 Pierce Enforcer PUC Pumper)
My guess is 142 gets the new engine, they get rid of their current reserve engine and keep the 2010 Ferrara as a spare.

Yes, the Ferrara was not a good rig.
Time flies. I didn’t realize they had the ladder as long as they have.

The Pierce ladder is actually a 2016. It replaced a 2010 Ferrara tower which from what I heard had many problems.

Their fleet should be very new once they receive this engine. Their oldest frontline rig will be the Pierce ladder which is only 2-4 years old.
