Mike, ttguy is correct on both points (compartment heights and Harrys comment). Some depts. also spec rigs with the rear end of the box a bit higher so they can make their angle of approach/departure.

For many years, quite a few manufacturers have offered drop skirts forward of the rear axle to increase compartment height and/or allow for easier ingress/egress through the curbside entry door. If I recall correctly, Horton had offered a 3″ or 6″ drop skirt option. And contrary to Harry’s comment, there is actually added expense to spray the chrome bumper with Rhino or Line-X products as well as swap out the chrome grille supplied with the preferred XLT package and replace it with a black grille or coat it with one of the products mentioned above. Many departments are spending quite a bit of our tax money to obtain this look.

Overall a Nice looking unit good color combination I noticed the box looks lower in front of the rear tire and higher in back of the rear tire I think for compartment storage…..

love the black bumper and grille less wasteful than chrome
