More from Danny Nelms on the Former Peotone FPD squad for sale:
The post that was shared about it for sale came up in the Society for the Preservation and Appreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus of America (SPAAMFAA) detailing the history of that vehicle:
Original to Ardmore PA;ALF 700 tda Huber Heights, OH. 1984 Pierce Arrow retractor/refurb, Job # F1271.1995, the tractor was refurbed into the above with an Ideal Beverage body & refurbed again in 2000 by RPI and sold to Peotone, IL.Before the current owner it was used by a company that went out of business called Qualified Spill Response. These guys must have scooped it up when Qualified went under.2 apron shots posted by Joel D. I asked a buddy who was out at Peotone and he said it didn’t go out any if at all he could recall it was the MABAS Div. hazmat unit

The squad couldn’t have been very practical with that wheelbase. I’d be curious as to what the actual wheelbase is. Any Peotone FFs on here that could tell us about using it?

That really is an interesting history. Also, there weren’t that many ALF 700’s with cast spoke wheels either.
