Nance-Holt is acting fire commissioner. Ford retired because of age 63 just like Santiago. I worked with Ford a few times when he was the engr. at engine 19, nice man.

It is possible that Annette Nance-Holt will become the next fire commissioner. If she does, She would be the first female fire commissioner of the Chicago Fire Department.

Let’s hope she doesn’t start micro managing the fire department like she does the PD, we all see how effective that has been

I didn’t know that Commissioner Ford was retiring. Does anyone know who the acting commissioner is and if a successor has been chosen? I wonder if Mayor Lightfoot is planning to micro manage the fire department? Something tells me that she might appoint that woman deputy commissioner as the new commissioner.
