When will this new fire station be placed in service?

This new station will be the new Streamwood Fire Departments headquarters. Currently there is a shortage of space for all of Streamwood’s equipment and apparatus. In addition, there is a 4 bay garage behind the station that will also be utilized to store apparatus. This station is also specifically designed for training where as in the past, they were using their parking lot and other departments land, space, and equipment. The Village of Streamwood will greatly benefit from this fire station with better means of training and administration logistics as well as better community outreach and comfort for the firefighters stationed here.

I believe they are going to move the administration from Station 33 to Station 31. The Idea of building this station was to make more room at stations 32 and 33. I believe they are going to put their reserve 2005 Rescue Engine and the 2006 75 Ft Seagrave Quint. They might also put the BC at this station as well. In the end I believe there will be a Engine, BC and reserve apparatus.

The building looks great but it only has a single engine company staffed there so I am not sure why they would build something that big. I doubt the village will ever add staffing and if they do it will probably just be an ambulance crew so again, not sure why they built such a big building.
