This from Asher Heimermann:
A fire truck became stuck in the snow on a hill in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on Wednesday, December 30th around 1 AM. Sheboygan Fire Department Rescue 2 became stuck after clearing from a medical call.
The Pierce Impel PUC pumper was stuck for an hour as firefighters worked to free the apparatus from the snow. A plow from the City of Sheboygan DPW arrived with salt and plowed a path for the truck after several failed attempts to pull the engine with a Ford pick-up truck.Sheboygan is 60 miles north of Milwaukee. The storm system dumped nearly 8 inches of snow in parts of Milwaukee and between 4 – 6 inches in Sheboygan.

Of course this sounds like an armchair quarterback, but the truck probably would have moved a lot easier had the front wheels not been cocked.

I didn’t see any tire chains on the rig. It may have had automatic chains, but regular chains work a lot better in snow like that.

I got idea plow the street with smaller truck and salt shit out of the road. Trust me it works. Done it a dozen of times.

I would have started with using the salt truck to yank them free instead of the pickup.

I guess people just don’t pay attention to weather reports anymore since there were so many unplowed streets and private driveways around here in suburban Milwaukee/Waukesha. This one of the worst I have seen in my 35+ years of being a delivery driver no mishandling of snow. Weather reports are so easy to access on just about any mobile device but several people in positions of authority were asleep at the wheel.

Someone really tried to pull a loaded engine with a pickup truck and thought this would work?????
