How can a department go through so many apparatus in a 10 year time frame? The department started in 2010, and they have gone through at least 5 engines. Granted a couple of the ones they bought when the department started were used. However being a 10 year old department, that doesn’t have that many calls compared to its neighbors, I’m not sure why they can’t hold on to an engine. I get they are broke, but wouldn’t you save more not constantly buying and selling apparatus? St. Charles and Elburn as an example typically keep engines in front line service for around 10 years, and they have more calls.

They bought a pumper tanker last year and it is in service now. I am guessing it replaced this engine and a tanker that they also sold.
