The city of Chicago uses Federal Signal as they are an Illinois company and represented by Local 134. All CFD rigs are Federal Signal and the lighting scheme on the new rigs are the same as far as I know with the exception of the first few with the blue lights. That was due to 1 CFD representative and it was a purposeful move to anger another CFD Representative. We have had red/green marker lights on the mirrors since the 90’s.

Chicago has been putting red/green lights on the mirrors for several years.
The Whelen roto beam is a nice light bar but Federal Signal is a local company represented by Local 134 IBEW.

Not a fan of these lightbars. Wish they would have used whelen rota-beams.

I noticed in Eric Haak’s photo of Eng 109 (April 11th) that there are red & green
lights (on each side matching the “mirror lights”) in the light bar. Is this now the standard ?
Nice photo JC Medina

Nice shine on that one. Interesting in placing the green light on the mirror

So inconsistent with the lighting choice. These have the same lighting scheme as E122, E15, E69, etc.

It’s sad that the new rig had to be used for funeral duty before being put in service.
