I came across yet another interesting photo of the CFD. I for one had no clue there was an award given to a fire dog. Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys this unusual gem.Regards,Austin

Bill, I think rick came on after 1985, so they would be in the current house. Here are a couple articles about what happened.

Mike when Rick Vega became a Chicago Fire Firefighter assigned to Engine 55 and Truck 44’s house was it literally the “same house” which was their old station on Sheffield or was it their current station which was opened in June 1966 at 2714 N Halsted.

Eddie groya was a very famous firemen. He rescued a child named rick Vega and rick when he got older became a Chicago firemen. Rick was assigned to engine 55 / truck 44, same house as Eddie groya worked and I believe they did work together for a while. Rick retired a few years ago from an on duty injury. Look up the story, it’s very good.

Bill, it is “Bozo” at engine 55. On the left is Ed Groya, and on the right is Commissioner Michael Corrigan. it was taken in 1955.

Who is on the right side? Was that Fire Commissioner Michael Corrigan?
I wonder what company or at least what firehouse the dog was assigned to?
He was probably the hydrant spotter.
