This from Wayne Stuart for #TBT:
Mabas Division 24 at one time or another over the years had the following Snorkels in service, the only one I do not have a photo of is Tinley Park. If anyone has a shot of it feel free to add it in. The Gary rig is the X-South Holland.

I always thought it was the Harvey Snorkel that was re-chassised to the Pierce that Channahon used.

Which Department provided the Channahon Snorkel?

Channahon’s Snorkel is just down I55 @ the Gardner FD now.

Thanks Wayne. What a collection of photos. I worked on two Snorkels in my career. Much prefer a stick or a tower.

Forgot about Geneva. Channahon sold theirs

Doesn’t Geneva still have theirs as well?
#7 by Andy on July 25, 2019 - 1:00 PM
Channahon I believe also still has theirs

Great pics Wayne!
Also Bedford Park.
Glen Ellyn is the only other suburban one that I know of, being that Orland and Frankfort are both gone.

Awesome pictures Wayne, now the only department with a snorkel near MABAS 24 is Evergreen Park and that’s a small one.

Take note of that ALF 900 in the background of the Riverdale picture.
