PJ, actually the rig in the photo was at Engine 14 before going to Engine 78 and it was originally assigned to Engine 83. Engine 14 got their first Spartan Luverne in 1995 and then the Ford Pierce went to Engine 78. Engine 78 didn’t get their HME Luverne until 1999 which also was a hand-me-down that had been assigned to Engine 125 for 2 years.

That wouldn’t have been the 2-11 on 95th and Damen would it?

After 78 received their new rig that rig went to Engine 14 replacing their 2000 GPM Ward LaFrance. Engine 14 used it until they receive their 1994 Luverne.

That’s a nice shot of Engine 78. I remember when they were using that rig it was a 1976 Ford/Pierce hand me down however it was a very nice looking rig and the shops apparently did a good job of fixing it up for Engine 78. That was the last rig they used before they received oneof the first HME/Luvernes in 1997.
