This from Wayne Stuart:
The Gary Fire Department operated this 1952 Ford / American LaFrance pumper. It had a 500-GPM pump and a 500-gallon tank. It carried ALF serial # F-2576. This pumper was purchased in 1982 from the Lakes of The Four Seasons Fire Force in Crown Point Indiana. It ran as Engine Company 11, and then as a spare.

I remember this rig at a very cold, icy fire on Lake Shore Drive in the mid-80’s. It slid down the Ripley street hill and ended up in the beach sand. They hooked it up to a plug down there and had it towed out later.

Looks great. Even though cast spoke wheels have long been deemed obsolete, they do give this rig “I mean business” look to it.
