Which engine will this one replace? My guess is engine 24.

Realigning manpower is another term for taking the squad out of service and putting the ambulance back in service. Station 22 never really had an ambulance and as the department got busier the need for district 22 to have an ambulance showed. District 22 is actually the busiest ambulance district. The city could have gotten away with keeping the squad and ambulance 22 by taking ambulance 23 out of service and using Pal Rural for ambulance calls on the north side of town. Engine 23 is ALS and that district isn’t really busy anyway. It’s ironic that when they took ambulance 22 out of service that it was the busiest ambulance of the 4. Station 22 is still the only house that was running all 2 man companies. The cities logic was the squad manpower would act as the 3rd man for the engine and tower and now that the squad is gone and the manpower shifted I wonder what they’re gonna say.

I heard it was because they realigned manpower to keep the ambulance, at Station 22, staffed all the time. They moved most of the specialized equipment to the tower ladder.

Anyone know why they got rid of their squad?

Wish it was a squad instead.
