Just goes to show you that they are not to be trusted. Tax payers should be furious with the lies coming from that organization.

So, after reading the last couple comments, I am confused. Do they or do they not have the engine in the top picture as a reserve? What, of all the apparatus that were mentioned in the one comment, belong to FRCFR? What does their fleet currently consist of after all that? With the amount of personnel they do/don’t have, it seems like the fleet has shrunk somewhat.

Thanks for the update Richard! Sounds like they are switching stuff around a lot, hopefully this piece will last a while.

The seagrave was junked and is at Quad County Fire Equipment. The Alexis is for sale on Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus site for $12,500. The spartan was acquired by River Grove from Quad County Fire Equipment in addition to a 2009 Ford Expedition out of West Chicago as part of a trade for the 2001 Pierce Saber which no longer fit operational needs. The Spartan E-One was never put In Service as they then bought a 2017 E-One Typhoon . I would guess they sold it to FRCFPD as they lost out on a auction of a Schaumburg engine last December.

Michael, those reserves were bought when the department started in 2010, so I’m not sure why they would be broken. I know the Alexis ran for a while as I use to see in and around the Campton Hills area. The Seagrave is from Bartlett originally. So do they still have the Alexis engines on an International frame, that they bought new when the department started? It is very hard to keep track with this department what they do.
CMK that is a good question. The last apparatus I remember them buying was I believe in 2016, and was an Alexis. So when they bought this is unclear, because it was not an original reserve.

Must be a more reliable rig than some of the ones they still have, even if it is going to be a reserve. Nevertheless, how did they get the money to purchase it?? Did they not just drop one station to “jump status?” Very interesting.

My guess is the other two reserves that were purchased broke. One of the engines they purchased new is at station 2 along with the new ambulance purchased in 16. There is a tanker at station 1 and 2. The Alexis engine they purchased in 16 is at station 1 as Engine 11.

So what happened to all the apparatus from ’10-’16 that was bought new? Also why do they have this reserve, they had a referb Alexis from the early 90’s and a Seagrave also from the early 90’s.
