Interesting that they’re going with the standard style compartment layout as apose to the ‘3 compartments along the top, 2 on either side of the wheel well’ style. In my opinion, that combined with the enclosed pump panel is what made Downers Groves rigs stand out from the rest, but times have changed and it’s probably for the best.

Roll up doors are a thing of the past. Crosslays above the pump is what the guys want. Midship compartment is gone as well. The shorter the better. No more aircraft carriers!!

Yes It will be replacing the 2007 Impel ( former engine 1) that moved to sation 3 when the new Squad was put in service at station 1 (101) it is currently OOS with motor problems from a high water incident. Station 3 ( 103) is using their old 2005 Enforcer that was formerly at Station 3 now reserve engine 4(104).. I am surprised it does not have a roll up door on the pump panel as all the previous engines have.
