Mostly correct. The Sta 2 engine company only takes the squad on TRT calls in town and box alarm fires out of town when it is not already staffed. If there are 0-2 guys off on a given shift then 2 guys are detailed to Sta 2 from Sta 1 and the squad is staffed with 2 who jump to the 2nd ambulance out of Sta 2… and Gurnee ran 6,200 calls last year

Gurnee currently runs as follows.
Station 1 has a BC, 3 on the engine, 2 on the front line ambulance and 2-3 for the tower ladder / 2nd ambulance.
Station 2 has 3 on the engine and 2 on the ambulance and the engine jumps to the squad.
There is talk about adding 2 more per shift to staff a 2nd ambulance at station 2 and they would staff the 2nd ambulance / squad.
Last year they ran 5,600 runs

For anyone who is familiar with the current operation of the Gurnee Fire Deparment I have a few questions. Is the squad still located at Station 2? Is it a jump company or do firefighters from the other shifts get called in to staff it? How are the companies run out of Station 1? Do you have enough on duty to staff an engine, tower ladder, and an ambulance? Are any of the companies at Station 1 jump companies?
According to the information that I have there are five assigned to Station 2 and 12 at Station 1 each shift which includes a battalion chief. Are all of the 12 at Station 1 always on duty or do some of them fill in for people off or on leave?
Based on five at Station 2, that would put two on the ambulance and three on the engine. With 12 at Station 1, that’s the battalion chief, two paramedics on an ambulance, and if three are on an engine plus three on the tower ladder, there are still three more. Where are these three assigned assuming that the above numbers are correct?
