I wonder if they’re gonna add the department markings to this one after it will be delivered to the CFD. This looks like some kinda universal paintjob from the manufacturer.

The fast boat is a boat able to respond to areas of water faster then engine 2 (the big boat) and provide assistance until it arrives. The CFD are using both an ex willow springs police boat and CPD m5 boat as spares as the previous 6-8-8 lake assault boat was wrecked due to the flat design being to flat and rigid for Lake Michigan. Apparently the cfd also has a smaller boat on order for river use only.

If memory serves, I believe the current / former was wrecked and they’re currently using a used boat they purchased as a spare.

I wonder if this boat is meant to replace the current Fast Boat or whether this will be a 2nd in-service Fast Boat?
