This from Mike Summa:
Found this on Merrionette Park’s facebook. It is a few years old. The caption read, “A big thank you to Evergreen Park.” Their engine was down for repairs and Evergreen let them use one of theirs. It is good to see the brotherhood that firefighters have for their fellow firefighters.

River Grove still has the Spartan/Pirsch engine. The run with one of the Pierce engines, The E-One from Schaumburg and the Spartan/Pirsch from Evergreen.

I grew up in Mt Greenwood and remember Merrionette Park’s rooftop siren to alert the volunteers. Nearby Garden Homes had one as well. The whole neighborhood knew when they had a run. Good memories!
