Does anyone have pic of 70,80,90 of rigs?

Before that was the old squad 16, which I think was a Dodge. Back in the 70s, the numbering was completely different than today. They had 4 stations, 4 engines, 2 trucks (one a tower), the big squad16 and a small paramedic squad 15.

The 1st “Squad 1” was a Ward LaFrance engine, I believe it was engine 29 prior to refurbishing and becoming Squad 1. That was run for several years before getting the Pierce Lance squad.

How long did they have the real squads for before they were moved to the engine? Which manufacturers built the two real squads? It looks like they started running with a engine in 2006. Why did they put the squad in a pick up truck? Money? Why not at the very least keep them in the engine?

OL was such great department in the 70,80,90 and early 2000. What a shame

I remember back in the 70s OL had this big Dodge squad 16. They also had the first tower ladder that I ever saw.

Squad 1 used to be the pride and workhorse of the then 1st Fire District. When you saw one of their 2 previous impressive rigs pull up on a box alarm, you would see a full crew of aggressive, seasoned guys who were ready to go to work with an apparatus filled to the gills with suppression and technical rescue equipment. It was special called to surrounding areas due to its reputation that Tommy Shervino, John Hojek, the McCastland’s, Brace, Scotty Bowman, Mike Orrico, and Danny Czarnecki, among a few, helped build. Now the Squad has it’s glory and equipment cache stripped as it is chasing EMS runs and no longer on any box cards. What a shame!

You have to be kinding! After having 2 real squads! One of the first in that area. Then a engine what kick. A former Chief would be P.O.
