This from Martin Nowak:
Friday night around 7:20-7:30 I saw Ambulance 3R from Roberts Park with Bridgeview Engine Company 405 using 425 at the scene of a 2-car accident that had moved into a CVS parking lot at 87th and Harlem (Later you can see 3R transporting.) Engine 405’s crew got a call to respond as seen in the video. As they were responding they called in the 2nd accident or both. The 2nd one was in front of the Shell gas station (4-5 car accident) and the third was a 3-car accident. In the video you see a red car at the gas station entrance, a witness told me the third accident where most of my recording took place was caused by the driver of that car. Not sure who caused what, but it was a busy night for MABAS 21. About 5 people were transported. Anyone that has any other information or has questions please do so in the comments. Here are a few pictures plus a video showing crews arriving. Thank you.

It was never said that they were. The first accident was pulled into CVS. About 10 minutes later Bridgeview got a call as they were responding they called in accident in front of shell.

I’d like to add that the accident by the CVS was not related to this one. All the other cars that you see in the footage were involved in the same accident.

In the video, at 40 seconds in, the green car in front of the fire truck at the gas station is the one that caused the multi-car accident. I saw that same car just minutes before having trouble. I was at the light facing Eastbound on Chestnut and was waiting to make a left turn onto North Harlem. That older model green car was in the turning lane facing northbound on Harlem. He was waiting to make a left turn onto Chestnut. The street that I was on. It was a long wait at the light. At the same time, I noticed that the man in the car wasn’t turning even when the road was clear of cars. He seemed to be looking down doing something. He did look worried. Than all of a sudden his car went in reverse at a high rate of speed for several yards. Than the wheels abruptly started to spin fast the opposite direction, forward, and they were smoking. The car took off at a high rate of speed going northbound on Harlem. He was coming up fast behind a silver car and I lost sight of him. I knew an accident was inevitable as the car was out of control. It seemed that the man was not able to break or control the gears. Well, seconds later the light finally changed and I turned northbound onto Harlem. I was shocked at the trail of damaged cars he had left along the way. His car ended up in front of a Pace bus at the gas station. I just hope that everyone involved is ok. It was a sight to see.
