One of our readers informed us that a montage of the new engine for Arlington Heights has been posted on the Pierce Flickr site.
Must have had a late snowfall in Appleton!
Thanks fyerbuff and DG.

One of the Quantum engines at 3 (Not sure if the current front line or Res Eng 3) will become Reserve Engine 4. The current RE4 is the last Pierce Arrow in AHTS.

Not speaking for AHTS but usually Engines are 10-12yrs front line and another 10 in reserve.

I grew up in Arlington Heights. Used to hang around at station 4 and chase the trucks on calls. I remember the ALF Century that used to run out of there. I can remember the first pierce arrow they got. Then came the quantums. These guys seem to get more new rigs than any dept I can point to. Am I off on this? What is their rule as far as life span of a frontline rig?
(The Century is still my all time favorite.)
