It will be interesting if Skokie adds a second reserve truck by keeping the one they have now

Michael the new Pierce will replace the 2008 Spartan engine (903) They have had a lot of problems with that rig. Subject to change the last I heard is that Berwyn will keep the 2000 Pierce as a spare and will get rid of the Spartan

Bill – Skokie will be replacing Truck 18 with the new tower and the current truck will become the reserve.
Also Evanston has 2 Pierce Enforcer Pumpers and 1 Ford F-550/Horton Ambulance on order. One engine and the ambo are due for delivery in 2023 and the other engine in 2024

So Skokie is seem to be breaking their mold this time. The seem to be ordering a first for them. A midmounted Tower Ladder is something that Skokie has never before ordered and the fact that they are ordering another Tower Ladder when their newest Aerial Device is Tower Ladder 16 and it is Truck 18 that is next Truck company that should be due for replacement it looks like Skokie intends on running with 2 Tower Ladders unless they replace Truck 16s rear mounted Tower with the mid mount that is on order however that really wouldn’t make sense so it looks to me like Skokie will become a 2 Tower Town.

I would say that perhaps one of the biggest surprises on the list is that Wheeling has a Pierce Engine on order. While Pierce is pretty common amongest most Chicago area fire departments, for Wheeling it is not. Wheeling is one those rare fire departments that is not in the habit of ordering Pierce apparatus.

I am guessing the E-One truck that Berwyn ordered will replace the Seagrave. Which engine will their new Pierce Enforcer replace?

Michael – Winfield ordered a new ambulance around the same time they ordered the engine. I am not sure what manufacturer.
Naperville also has a few rigs on order:
Pierce Enforcer pumper
Freightliner/Horton medic
LDV Mobile Command center for EMA
Freightliner/LDV TRT vehicle
They also just got a new Freightliner/Horton medic that was originally supposed to be delivered in March.

Glad to see Winfield is on the list for a new engine to replace the 14 year old PUC.
If I had to guess, the Pierce will become their Engine 32. Since the current engine 32 is broken and can’t be fixed.
When Engine 31 was out for repairs earlier this summer, they were running in the 2010 Tender.
I hope they will get a new Ambulance. I see they are switching between the 2005 and the 2010.

It’s ok Tyler.
Palatine Rural Now Inverness fire district ordered 2023 Ford not sure if it is an E or F series. I don’t know who is building the box for the ambo. They are also ordering an engine and tanker not sure is the manufacture is.

I am happy to see these agencies ordering new equipment. I hope they aren’t delayed too long and serve their communities well. Just over the border, Pleasant Prairie has a 107′ Enforcer Ascendant quint under construction and near completion.
