Mike, brown out is out of service but I think not all the time depending on staffing..with that being said I don’t quite understand the day shift 2 man vehicle. No way they are that busy where they need a separate vehicle running bullshit calls manned by 2 members making 100k a year. Probably more useful staffing another ambulance or adding the manpower to a busy engine or truck. Anyways …no you can’t listen to Naperville or Aurora. They have encrypted bands

what is the brown out im from Boston we dont use that term here assuming it means in service as manpower allows? I was just in the Aurora area this past week and got a view of the New Lad-2 downtown Im guessing there is no way to listen to them on a scanner????? Mike

Daniel they’re kind of using like the rescue vehicles. Non-emergency calls like citizen assists, elevator alarms, line trouble alarms, etc. I believe it’s manned by 2, unlike the rescue vehicles.

Tim, what exactly is C47? I noticed it on PulsePoint a few months ago. I’m assuming it’s some sort of EMS Chase vehicle? Sounds like it’s using power-shift hours.
