Only 2 trucks not 3.

Tim, where’d you hear that? Seeing as how NFD likes to shuffle everything around, it wouldn’t surprise me. They could use a 3rd truck again. I wonder where the new Pierce Enforcer engine they just ordered will go.

So Tim are you saying that Naperville will be putting a 3rd Truck in service again?. If that’s the case it would be good because the current 2 Truck companies are both on the far ends of town with Truck1 on the far east end and Truck 10 on the far southwest end. Station 7 is overall the most Centrally located Station. As you probably know Station 7 ran with a Truck until they opened Station 9. That’s one thing about Naperville , they are always moving companies around.

This truck is going to end up at 7.

I love Pierce!

So Mike H. let me reiterate…..a potpourri of manufactures 🙂
They did buy a Pierce and E-one at the same time to compare a few years back (Engines 3, 4).
Don’t think they’re in a rush to dump the Spartan/Crimsons. Engine 2’s Spartan just got repainted.

Mike Helmuth you are by and large correct that Naperville was mainly E One and some Freighliner Engines as well as mainly E/One Trucks (in the 90s) however when it comes to Trucks and Tower Ladders their recently taken out of service Tower Ladder 9 also was a Pierce and they also had been running with 2 Straight rear mounted Aerial Ladders with were 2 2009 Spatan Crimson Rear Mounted Quints. Naperville did at one time have an E/One 135 foot Aerial Ladder in addition to 2 E/One Tower Ladders. This the late 80s and 90s that I am talking about however. Naperville when it comes to apparatus assignments has been quite fluid and within the last year or so that took one of their Trucks out of service (Tower Ladder 9) and replaced it with a Squad/Pumper so now Naperville runs with only 2 Trucks and now with 2 Squad/ Pumpers. Naperville had been running with 3 Trucks until recently and they may have at one time been running with 4 howver I can’t say with 100% certainty as they have been shifting assignments around foe quite a while as they have opened new Stations. For example Tower Ladder 7 became Tower Ladder 9 when they when they opened station 9. Currently they run with a mix of Spartan, E/One and Pierce pumpers.

I believe they are trying to get as many of the spartan crimson vehicles replaced when they can. I believe they are experimenting with both Pierce and E-One to see which vehicles hold up better.

No. They’re a potpourri of manufacturers. Pierce, e-one Spartan.

Wasn’t Naperville mostly E-ONE?
