hey harry did the new rig show up in plainfield today?
#2 by Localguy on May 25, 2022 - 8:27 PM
Harry, seriously!!! Mike has nothing to back it up??? Um…..you do know Pierce is in a massive lawsuit over junk rigs???? I’ll back it up. My dept had SEVEN rigs completely rust out from under us, seven. Frames and bodies. In the winter months we hose them down with hot water after every run to get the salt and slush off them. They also go to the county maintenance shop where they have a underbody high pressure washer built into the floor. Can’t say it was bc we didn’t take care of them. What did pierce do???? Nothing, they offered to sell us new rigs with a laughable discount. Didn’t stand behind the 50 year warranty on the frames. BTW, good luck waiting for Chicago to buy pierce again. It’s funny Chicago had pierce, got rid of them. Boston had pierce, got rid of them. Baltimore had pierce, currently getting rid of them. DCFD was buying a mix, currently only getting Seagrave. Seems like any major metro dept that’s had pierce, only buys them once.

Harry Chicago is not going to get pierce
#4 by Harry on May 25, 2022 - 7:07 PM
Local guy I am aware of fd politics that was why franklin pk fd had the seagrave ladder because the cheif wanted it
Next I would not be surprised at all if chicago fd got pierce rigs in the future

Mike c with all your bad mouthing pierce talk and have no physical proof to back it up because weather u admit it or not a lot of depts love pierce and mike if u don’t believe u will when these depts get these rigs skokie getting a used ford ambo franklin pk looking to get a 97 or so eone engine rosemont new pierce tower plainfield new pierce engine but I don’t care if u believe me I know my facts do your research

Funny that multiple people call Hairy out for his inaccurate information but he’s so delusional he still thinks he’s right.
*rolling eyes*
#7 by Tim on May 25, 2022 - 6:33 AM
Harry, what I find funny is that you don’t have any facts that are correct. And guess what, some of the other guys here have the facts about this rig. You know why? One of the top Pierce salesmen in the area is on Plainfield (although he won’t sell Pierce to Plainfield himself.) Pretty good bet those FACTS are CORRECT and not yours. Don’t quit your day job Harrry.

Well, Hairy, if that “sounds decent” and you’re this sure then lets make the deal! As a matter of fact, I’ll make it even easier on you. If your super duper inside source can even get us a picture of the completed truck on Pierce’s blue floor (final inspection) by the end of the month I think you’ll shut a lot of us up. Doesn’t even have to be completed, just has to be final inspection ready by 06/01/2022 at 0000. Sound good?
But when you’re wrong it would be nice if you hold up your end of the bargain.
#9 by Localguy on May 24, 2022 - 8:57 PM
Harry, when you make comments like that. You show your ignorance. You clearly don’t understand politics. I know several guys on a number of different depts that hate pierce. But……the one deputy chief or battalion chief that’s in charge of apparatus likes them. Yeah, a person that’s not even riding the dang thing. Yes, this same example works for other manufacturers also, not just pierce. Well…..that’s what we’ve always purchased. Or the city manager tells the fd you’re staying with pierce for some unknown reason. Or other corrupt politics. Understand things get shoved down your throat regardless of what you like and really want.
#10 by Harry on May 24, 2022 - 7:56 PM
Mike c and yet u hate pierce but yet sure a lot of depts that love them
#11 by Harry on May 24, 2022 - 1:11 PM
Tim I never said this was fdny and mike c yes u can have your opinions and so can I but I can have my facts which I do and they are right
#12 by Mike C on May 24, 2022 - 7:04 AM
I think Hairy should be banned from this page for constantly spreading inaccurate information.
I look forward to seeing it lettered. Should be a sharp looking truck.
#13 by danny on May 24, 2022 - 3:38 AM
yeah i talked to a local to me pierce salesmen and he said the same thing that there is no way its done in 8 days.
#14 by Cmk420 on May 23, 2022 - 10:00 PM
And don’t forget, there is a holiday thrown in there as well, which also might hinder the process a little.
#15 by Tim on May 23, 2022 - 9:09 PM
Harry you know absolutely nothing about anything. You’re comments are just plan ignorant that don’t make any sense. This isn’t FDNY this is the Pierce plant. Plainfield will be lucky to take delivery by the end of June. If anyone has been through the bid/build/inspection/delivery process, and many of us have, this rig will not be done in 8 days.
#16 by Harry on May 23, 2022 - 7:12 PM
Danny it is only may 23 and this should be complete soon that is like 2 days work I have seen fdny put a ladder on in less than an hour fully operational
#17 by Danny on May 23, 2022 - 6:27 PM
Well they are wrong unfortunately
#18 by Martin on May 23, 2022 - 6:20 PM
Unless they are working around the clock and the photos are a few weeks behind. I really don’t see it coming by the end of the month
#19 by Harry on May 23, 2022 - 4:20 PM
Well that is what they are still saying at plainfield the end of month
#20 by danny on May 22, 2022 - 11:54 PM
well as of 5 21 22 the rig still has not had the main ladder attached to the rig and it was still going through the process to up fit the body and all its associated equipment… so if its done and in Plainfield in the next 8 days that will truly be a miracle. its ok to admit that your contacts may be wrong or misinformed you or may have even been misinformed themselves Harry.
#21 by Martin on May 22, 2022 - 10:33 PM
Photos are updated weekly and have already been updated.
#22 by Harry on May 22, 2022 - 4:05 PM
E.c. carroll well truly that sounds decent except for the fact that my contacts know what they are talking about because did u know skokie has a used ford ambulance coming soon and plainfield will be getting ordering a new pierce engine soon
#23 by E. C. Darroll on May 22, 2022 - 7:17 AM
How about this Hairy…..let’s make a bet. If it’s there by the end of May 2022 we’ll all stop bothering you when you post. If it’s not you have to stop posting for at least six months? Deal? It’ll prove once and for all how reliable all your “contacts” are.
#24 by Chuck on May 21, 2022 - 6:52 PM
I’d bet you money it won’t be, Harry. Wonder who your inside contact is.
#25 by Tim on May 20, 2022 - 8:50 PM
At least the front bumper is big enough to set up an air mattress on it.
#26 by Harry on May 20, 2022 - 8:09 PM
It is supposed to be at plainfield end of may
#27 by Mike hellmuth on May 20, 2022 - 2:03 PM
White with red ladder blue and green warning lights in front quite the combination…….
