Speaking as a former limo operator . it should also be taken into consideration some of the estates in Campton Hills and Wayne have insanely long narrow driveways ending quit literally at a homes front door sometimes in a circular drive. All on unpaved gravel roadways barely plowed in the winter and muddy
messes at best after rain storms. After a snowfall the driveways without appropriate markers are invisible as well so a smaller apparatus makes good sense.

The Ford Super-Duty can supply 1500 GPM pumps and has bern doing so for some time. The chassis GVWR however is usually limits water tank capacity to 300 gallons. To then meet remaining NFPA and ISO requirements for a pumper/engine is achievable but just like the quint, you can’t get everything that you could on a full size rig. Needs v. wants.

1500 gpm pump!? Is that possible? That motor must be screaming at capacity, 150 psi!?

Didn’t they use to have a small rescue truck several years ago that was at Station 2 but they got rid of it.
My guess is this will go to Station 2 with the 2020 pumper tanker for EMS responses.
For a district that claims to be broke, they are definitely keeping up their apparatus fleet.
They should dissolve and Campton Hills should just form their own fire department. I am sure Campton Hills has benefited from having the station in town. South Elgin should take over the station that is north of St Charles and call that station, station 24.

So is this in addition to the current fleet, or is this replacing something?
