FDNY carries their apparatus by the year that they are ordered – is that what’s going on here? These rigs are getting carried as 2018’s?

The fleet list shows engine 78 as the first 2002 model put in service even though it was put in service on 12-22-2001, but they carry engine 70 as a 2001 model. Put on service on 1-4-2002.

If you are looking for the oldest front line rigs the 7 oldest in order are
127 81 97 8 89 56 and 43
And it’s been said that they are replacing problem child rigs and oldest first. So I’d assume if 102s 2004 x engine 73 is being replaced ahead of the 2001s and 2002s then It may be one of those rigs.
After those initial 7 the next oldest 2001 models would be ..
49 112 7 19 99 108 22 84 55 96 79 70 and 34

Engine 78 is a ’01 SPARTAN. When is that one due for replacement?
#5 by Engine 102 on March 26, 2020 - 10:09 PM
Engine102 FDD616 2004 spartan former engine 73. Engine 93 FDD627 2005 Spartan is receiving new e-one FDD678. Sometimes rigs that are not older will become spares based on run volume like 93 and engine 116 FDD618 2004 Spartan being replaced by 2018 e one FDD669. FDD574 2001 Spartan Eng 127 was former Eng 117 2001-2004. FDD575 2001 Spartan Eng 81 was former Eng116 2001-2004 . FDD576 2001 Spartan engine 97 was former 93 2001-2004

Replacement apparatus is always goes to the oldest first. What year are Engineās 81,127 and 102? By the process of elimination you should be able to figure out where the other 4 are going.

TL-10 and AT-8 went into service on 2-28. There are 2 engines and IIRC supposedly 12 or 13 Trucks on order. We have not seen the Trucks yet.

Where are the other four engines being assigned to and when will Engines 28 and 103 have their frontlines back in service? I’m assuming Engines 92 and 97 will get them.

Did Engine 126 have any damage to it from the garage collapse? Is it still in service?
