This from Chi-Town Fire Photos:
Here is an updated list and assignments for CFD OFI. Stationed out of Engine 16’s Firehouse now at 53 E Pershing Rd. OFI Headquarters is also at Engine 16. They took over the South EMS Division side of the firehouse. I believe the South Side EMS Division is now out of Engine 84’s house.

Chuck, before District 4 was put back in service at Engine 38’s house in 2015, District 5 was at Engine 84. Technically they were relocated to Engine 38 where they became District 4. Apparently I left out that District 6, which was at Engine 81, was renumbered to District 5 even though they stayed at Engine 81.

Bill, where did you get that the 5th District was taken out of service? It was not the 5th that was taken out, but the 6th.

Are they sure that is where they want to locate the fire investigators? When it comes to playing musical chairs I have never seen the Chicago Fire Department move bureaus and chiefs around as they have over the past several years. The OFI was relocated from Engine 44’s large 4-bay station to Engine 18’s new station. Then every one went to Engine 38’s station and then they moved 467 to Engine 107, they moved 468 to Engine 22, and 469 to Engine 63 while keeping 466, the supervising marshal at Engine 38 around 2013/14. By 2016 they moved 466 to Engine 84. Now they apparently have moved everyone back together again including 466 to Engine 16’s house.
Battalion 4 was at Engine 18 where it had been for many years even before 1982 when it was the old Battalion 7. Then they moved District 1 from Engine 42 to Engine 18, so they moved Battalion 4 to Engine 23 since they don’t want a district chief and a battalion chief in the same house. So in 2015 when they relocated District 4 from Engine 84 to Engine 38, they moved Battalion 4 to Engine 28. There is a problem. Battalion 4 and Battalion 15 are slightly over a mile apart. Battalion 15 is at Engine 39. As far as I know Battalions 4 and 15 are still where they were in 2015.
I understand that the districts were reduced from 6 to 4 (plus District 3 at O’Hare). It made perfect sense to have one on the north side, one in the center of the city, and two on the south side where they were until 2015 when District 5 at Engine 84 was taken out of service. They were moved to Engine 38 on the west side and becoming District 4. Because of that move a few of the battalions were renumbered so that consecutive numbers would be located in the same district.
I still don’t see much of a point to the relocation of one of the south side districts from Engine 84 to Engine 38 on the west side as Districts 1 and 4 are only four miles apart. Both are located on the west side while the south side, which is much larger than the west and north sides only had one district. It made more sense the way the districts and battalions were located before 2015 when a district chief was relocated to Engine 38 and Battalion 4 was to Engine 28. Several battalion chiefs were renumbered such as Battalions 5,6,12,13,17,18, and 19. The current plans to move District 5 from Engine 81 to Engine 115 would still place the southside district off center on the far south side near the city limits instead of being more centrally located.
It would make more sense if District 4 was on the south side at Engine 84’s house or with Engine 116 where they were before moving to Engine 84.

I hate to say it but Harry is right on this one. I process government contracts for ford…those aren’t, weren’t and will never be 2015 exp’s. Date of mfg could be in 2015 but it’s a 2016 Explorer. We’re setting up 2020’s for agencies now.

Does it really matter if it s a 2015 or a 2016? Its a year difference, lets not fight over something so small and meaningless. Great Shots Josh!!!!

Any vehicle built after Sept of that year is considered the next model year. The sticker in the door may say 9-15 but it is considered a 2016

4-6-7 and 4-6-9 are Fords with the body made by Knapheide Truck. They are also G622 and G625.
The explorers were actually made in 2015, I’m sure the sticker says so. But they are the 2016 body style and went in service in March of 2016. I think Chicago considers them 16s. It can go either way when you talk about manufacture year vs model year.
