From FireTruckMall.com:
2014 Spartan 100′ mid-mount platform on a Gladiator chassis
With under 25,000 miles, this used truck has been very well taken care of. This is a very new piece of apparatus, and rare on the used fire truck market today. With minimal time passed since it was produced, this vehicle will have many years remaining to serve at its next fire department!
This truck was previously owned by the Alexandria Fire Department in Virginia.
thanks Hunter

Jeff! Best wishes with your new mid mount! I’m excited for all of you in Urbana! I’m confident it’ll serve the village well.

Sorry, yes. You can get a smeal or LTI ladder.

Mike, I’m with Urbana. Delivery is slated for September. I’m sure you will see it on this web site. Our new spartan engines were on here. We have dark maroon rigs. Our dept is very excited. This is our 1st tower ladder. The ladder will be painted grey, Detroit grey. All our ladders are in the torque box (241ft). I think that’s impressive for a mid mount. Any questions let me know. I love taking fire porn.

Seems like a beast in terms of length. Sounds like RP was in a bind with current apparatus and all the issues with the ladder.
Will they be running this new(ish) truck first out to all calls like they typically did with the pierce ladder 31?

Jeff,
Just curious to what department you’re with. Really eager to see the mid mount Smeal!!
Is Spartan offering both LTC and Smeal towers and ladders? That’s quite the broad range to choose from coming from a customer standpoint.

Rich I agree with you about the crimson trucks. But I am sure you are aware that Spartan, Smeal, LTI are all the same company now. Smeal and LTI are SOLID ladders. Yes the crimson mid mount was a funky setup with the frame and torque box construction. But all the aerials sold by Spartan are now Smeal ladders. My dept just ordered a 100ft mid mount. The thing is a tank. My personal opinion is Smeal makes one of the best ladders on the market.

The seagrave was taken out of service? I know they went ALS last week? Sorry I’m not up to date like how I used to be. By the time I find stuff out its already old news.

Martin, RP is running semi normal again. Engine 32 is back in their new Seagrave and Engine 31 is back in the Pierce Dash.

I think it’s good they got rid of pierce but I’m not sold on the Crimson trucks. We have them in the city and they are nothing but problems…. across the board, hopefully RP won’t have any issues.

A lot of good people at Alexandria!
Kevin, I actually remember hearing about the Pierce ladder catching on fire. I wonder how that all played out between Roberts Park and Pierce.

Rp actually had only 1 engine running. According to the minutes that E31 and 3R were oos plus the truck. So former 32 was running as 31. Not sure if it still is. But more than likely they will end up keeping it. Anyone can verify if the old spartan is running as 31.

Nice. Didn’t a Spartan midmount in Texas crack in the middle during opps a few years ago?

Wow that’s really a sharp looker.
Long bastard too.

Nice looking truck! I am sure it will serve them well with under 25,000 miles it will hopefully last. I think it will be an asset to have in D 21 as well.

Roberts Park wasn’t planning on getting rid of the 2008. They had it at pierce for repair work and it caught fire over the weekend a while back. Did extensive damage to the cab.

Interesting! Well good for RP. I have noticed that Alexandria has had numerous new deliveries from Seagrave including new engines and a tiller. Also, this will be a big asset to D21 being the second tower ladder in the whole division.
