Here is an update from the Alexis website on the construction of the new engine for Fox River & Countryside.
This from John Tulipano:
Fox River and Countryside has moved station 3 into a brand new facility at 6N330 Route 25 in St Charles.
I have attached a few photos taken back in January. I drove by recently and the new station is occupied (but not totally completed) and the old station is closed. Here is the link for the ground breaking. Here is a link stating that they moved in February 27, 2014.

Chris–I don’t know why they don’t just call it Station 2; I guess it’s just how Fox River chooses to number their stations.

According to their website, Station 2 is still several years away; although they have bought the land for it. I think the initial focus was to replace Station 3 (which was operating out of a temporary warehouse structure) with something more permanent. Also, I looked at the picture gallery & it appears they swapped the Station 1 ambo with the Station 3 ambo. Not sure why that happened.

Why is this station 3 when there isn’t a station 2 yet?

Fox River’s engine is not all new, they are pulling out the IH chassis that was under this body due to mechanical issues and replacing it with a Spartan. Check out the link and you can see the body is identical:
