The commercial chassis is all about cost and complying with a State of IL no-interest loan. The development of this purchase did not follow the usual procedure we use (see previous post on this website). We are also trying to reduce future fuel and maintenance costs. The only functional difference between this new squad and our current squad will be 1000 feet less of 5-inch hose and no cascade (since we have access to MABAS Air 3).

Very cool. Reminds me of the old stickney engines with the coffins behind the cab. Will be cool to see when its complete.

I’m guessing a cost factor with not going with spartan chassiss vs. commercial such as the frieightliner that will be with the new squad?

In the doors on each side of body. Windows are to be taller than usual so you can look out sitting or standing (only when rig is stopped).

Thats unique! Will there be any windows by those seats?

Yes. There will be an EMS cabinet between them. There will also be a step in the door well so one can safely get up and not fall.

Are those going to be jump seats?
