Thursday afternoon, I was proud to present Stickney Mayor Morelli and the Stickney Fire Department with a grant check for the purchase of protective fire equipment. The $151,715 grant from the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Program will be used to help purchase 24 new self-contained breathing apparatus devices and 30 additional face pieces.

Stickney firefighters had a working fire at the Hawthorne Race Course Thursday morning (5/7/15). The building involved at 3701 S. Laramie contained apartments over a horse barn. the fire was on the second floor.
