Arlington Heights one-car crash, 10-21-15

This from Scott Peterson:

Vehicle vs power pole – no entrapment on Rand Rd 1 block west of Arlington Heights Rd. Driver remained in the vehicle until Com-Ed shut down the power. This pole did have a transformer on it. Com-Ed arrived within 20 mins of the FD arrival. Once Com-Ed gave the all clear, Arlington Heights FD crews removed the driver and transported to Northwest Community Hospital.

Eng 4, Amb 4, Sqd 2 & Batt 1.

New squad for Elk Grove Village

Elk Grove village new Squad 7 – 2015 HME/Aherns Fox EVO on a Ford 550 Turbo diesel chassis (purchased as a stock unit). Hale 1,500-fpm pump, 400 gallons of water, and 17 gallons class B foam

New tower ladder for Elk Grove Village

This from Scott Peterson:

This is the new tower ladder for Elk Grove Village. It is scheduled to go in-service the 2nd week of September. Tower 7 in Steve’s pictures from the Elk Grove Township extra alarm is actually the reserve truck. We had been running a 75’ straight stick quint ( a Pierce Quantum, Truck 7), 2000-gpm/500 gallons & 30 of foam. That is sold and being stripped this week to prepare for the changeover to the new Quint 7.

The new tower specs are:

100′ Pierce Velocity, 2000gpm/300 gallons (This was a stock Pierce tower)

Tower 7, the 100′ Dash 2000 will go back to reserve once this is placed in service.

New engine for Broadview

This from Josh Boyajian;

I stopped by Broadview yesterday to get a picture of their new engine. It is marked Engine 7. Throughout the week, all of their rigs will get remarked identical as the Engine, with the Division 20 logo on the back door and 7 on the front door. Broadview will be all 7s. Here are a couple shots of it inside the firehouse. I’ll have a follow up with some staged shots in the near future.

They also have a new 2013 Ford Explorer for the fire chief.

Scott Peterson found the following update about the new engine being build for Hebron Alden Greenwood on the fire district web site

New engine being built for Hebron IL by US Tanker.

The Makings of a New Fire Engine!

We have purchased a new fire engine that is being built by US Tanker out of Delevan, Wisconsin. The engine is in its beginning stages, and should be delivered in the Spring of 2014. We completed the chassis inspection this past week, and so far things are progressing as planned. We have included some pictures below, and will update the progress on our web page as milestones are met.
