As of today, a new blog has been launched called FireScenes.NET. Intended as a hub to view images from fire scenes throughout the country, the new blog will highlight fire photography from many contributors. Readers of chicagoareafire.com will see some familiar postings from time to time as the work of local photographers is uploaded to share with a broader audience.

Firescenes.net

FireScenes.NET will post images of fires that occur in many cities and states in addition to what is shown on chicagoareafire.com. More than a dozen photographers have already agreed to share images through the new blog and that number will grow as the blog audience expands. Since several photographers from the Chicago area travel on a regular basis to Detroit, this will be a new venue to share those images alongside many of the other photographers that also visit Detroit.

The new blog was created by Larry Shapiro. He states:

Through discussions with photographers from across the country, I created this blog to fill a need that was identified.  While there are a vast number of sites on the web where people post images of fire scenes, trying to search for those scenes brings up thousands of hits.  Similar keywords which include fire trucks, firemen, and fire scenes, tend to increase this number. Many of these results are not directly relevant to the search.

So click the link and check out the new blog.
