New ambulance for East Joliet FPD

Today the Fire District Trustees have approved the ordering of a new 2020 Ford 550/Horton Ambulance through Foster Coach Sales, Inc. The new ambulance will be purchased utilizing funds received from the passing of our General Bond Referendum in March of this year. When Delivered, the new ambulance will go in service at Station 51 as Ambulance 51, replacing Ambulance 53, a 2007 Ford/Medtec reserve ambulance. The current Ambulance 51, a 2012 Ford/Medtec, will then be placed in reserve as Ambulance 53. The Department expects delivery of the new ambulance in 6-10 months.

At the end of May, we received delivery of a new Ford F-450/Horton ALS ambulance. The new ambulance replaced our reserve ambulance, a 2002 Freightliner/Road Rescue. New Ambulance 52 was placed in service on July 1, 2016 at our Station 52 at 102 E Zarley. The ambulance that was serving as Ambulance 52, a 2007 Ford F-450/Medtec, was moved into a reserve role as Ambulance 53.
