From Max Weingardt:
Rolling Meadows open house 10/8/22
The Wilmette FD had an open house Saturday morning (5/18/19). This included several antique apparatus and an opportunity to showcase new Engine 27 for residents followed by ceremoniously pushing it into the station.
Engine 27 is a 2019 Pierce Dash CF PUC so 32569. It has a 1500-GPM pump, 750 gallons of water, and a foam cell which has either a 20 or 30-gallon capacity. This engine was outfitted with a 35-foot ground ladder and will run as Engine 26 if the tower ladder is out of service. It will go into service at Station 27, and the 2017 2013 E-ONE engine will become a reserve piece.
Wilmette sold the reserve tower ladder and has an engine currently for sale.

Fire Department 50th Anniversary Open House
The Schaumburg Fire Department invites the public to attend its Open House to celebrate the department’s 50th anniversary.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, May 6 at Fire Station 51, 950 W. Schaumburg Road.

Fire protection in Schaumburg was provided by the Roselle Fire Protection District in the early days. The Schaumburg Fire Department was created by village ordinance on February 20, 1966, and appointed volunteer firefighters that officially began serving the Schaumburg Fire Department on June 1, 1967.
Today, the Schaumburg Fire Department provides suppression and emergency medical services to a day-time population of 150,000. Responding from five fire stations, 120 shift personnel respond to more than 9,100 calls a year. The fire department is responsible for providing emergency response services including fire, ambulance, hazardous materials, underwater rescue and recovery, high angle, trench and confined space rescue; and education/fire prevention programs including school presentations, station tours, high rise drills, and Explorer Scout Post 333.
