Still and Box Alarm fire in Chicago, 1-10-22

From Chi-Town Fire Photos:

I attended a Still & Box overnight at 2020 W Webster in the Bucktown neighborhood. Companies originally reported fire in the rear of this 1.5 story residence, and were interior making a good push. However, the cold wind soon took hold of the attic space and heavy fire conditions evolved. All companies were pulled out, Tower 21 was moved to Side A, and knocked the fire with their aerial master stream. Companies went back in to mop up. There is a full gallery viewable here:

2-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 12/23/18

This from Eric Haak:

At a little after 0300 Sunday morning (12/23), Engine 101 landed with a fire in a 1-story, 65×100 truss roof trucking company at 74th and Bell Avenue. Battalion 20 boxed the fire less than a minute later and it would eventually be raised to a 2-11 Alarm. The building was a total loss. Engines 101, 15, 123, and 54 were all pumping at this incident and Tower Ladders 39 and 54 along with Squad 5’s Snorkel were in use as well.

3-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 1-8-18

The first 3-11 Alarm fire of the  year occurred Monday night (1/8/18) as Chicago firefighters battled fire in a 150×800 mattress warehouse at 4041 S. Emerald. Elevated master streams from three tower ladders and Squad 1A surrounded the building.

Chicago Still & Box Alarm fire, 4-4-16

Chicago firefighters were called to a laundromat at 5130 W. Fullerton Avenue after 2AM Monday morning (4/4/16) and found heavy fire in a one-story, 60×100, commercial building with a bow-string truss roof. The building had no immediate exposures with parking lots on either side. After venting the roof, companies went defensive with Tower Ladder 14 setup to the west and Squad 2A to the east. There was a special call for an additional tower ladder which brought Tower Ladder 23 to the front of the building. Two multi-versals and the three elevated master streams inundated the building with water for two hours.

Heavy fire vented out the front of the building burning a car parked at the curb. The utility company was called to shut off gas to the building as a gas fed fire burned freely near the front.

Steve Redick and Larry Shapiro were at the scene.

Here is a brief cellphone video clip from Steve with more to follow
