I took in a fire Saturday night in Dekalb. The fire was at 201 N 6th Street. It’s a 2-story commercial building that had a deli/bakery on the first floor where the fire was located. There was a lot of smoke and the crews did a great job of getting in and getting it knocked down quickly. It was upgraded to a 2nd alarm, but only the box alarm companies were used.Andy

Had to run down to Fire Service yesterday to drop some stuff off for the new rigs. I was able to get a few shots of the engine. They just got lettered.

Buffalo Grove Fire Department Final Inspection at E-ONE.
This from Andy Russell:
The Buffalo Grove Fire Department has placed an order with E-One for a new engine (to replace 213/E28 the 1996 E-One) and a 78’ quint that will replace 236 (the 1996 E-One tower) and will run front line at Station 27. The 2003 KME 237 (Q27) will be placed in reserve at Station 25 as Q25 and will be the reserve truck. These are both production vehicles that were going to be demos before we bought them. Delivery is expected this fall/early winter.

I got a chance to grab a few pictures of the new BGFD ambulance that was delivered last week. It’s a 2015 Horton on a Freightliner chassis sold by Foster Coach Sales. It’s currently being stocked and having some final touches taken care of plus training. It is slated to go in service as A25 by the end of the year.
