Here are a few images from yesterday’s Still & Box with a Mayday Alert and EMS Plan I at 5539 S. Damen Avenue. One firefighter was transported in fair condition after the fire flashed through the front door. The building was a total loss.

Nunda Rural FPD requested MABAS Box 5-1371 to the 3rd level for a fully-involved two-story residential home in Prairie Grove around 10pm on 2/2/23. Tender operations were used since there were no hydrants in the area.

Fatal MVA involving Chicago FD Truck 52, 1-22-23

A driver was killed and three more people were seriously hurt after an SUV crashed into a Chicago fire truck on the Southwest Side early Sunday morning at about 2:38 a.m. on the outbound Stevenson Expressway at Pulaski Road near Archer Heights.

Chicago Truck 52 was stopped at another accident scene when it was hit. Four people, the SUV’s driver and passengers, were transported to a local hospital, where the driver was pronounced dead.

No firefighters were hurt in the crash.

House fire in Huntley, 1-19-23

Huntley FPD responded to (2) working fires in under 24 hours in Station 2’s still district. This fire was yesterday (1/19/23) around 7pm. Companies arrived with heavy smoke inside with a working fire on the 1st floor, quickly knocked down.
