The LaGrange Fire Department had an open house recently and Drew Gresik submitted images of several Lagrange rigs.

Ahh I see what you were saying…sorry I was a little confused. Apologies.

John C… that was exactly what I was speculating. Heck, maybe WS, LGP, and LG will merge anyway and we’ll be having a whole new conversation.

I believe their MVP is going to be their first out engine for all runs. So, I’d imagine they would sell their 1991 Pierce and keep the other engine as their reserve.
They did NOT have anyone staffing the truck company when they had it…if the truck was due mutual aid, the engine crew would jump to the truck and take it.

I guess what I’m asking is what happens to staffing existing engines if they run the MVP most of the time? I understand having one unit as a reserve, but wouldn’t they be no different (from a staffing perspective) than when they had the ladder?

I would imagine they’d just do what they have now, staff it with 3. They have 6 per shift: 1 Shift commander, 2 on the ambulance, 3 on the engine.
That being said, I don’t have any inside knowledge, but I don’t see how they could change that up at all.

Any idea or speculation on how they will staff apparatus when the MVP arrives?

Yep, Bob and Raymund are correct…they opted late last year to replace their truck with the MVP….they felt it would be a more appropriate use of manpower, as opposed to a truck they would only be able to staff with 1 FF at the most.

I believe LaGrange recently sold thier ladder and opted to not replace it.

No, they sold their ladder. When they had it, they only ran it when it was due Mutual Aid…never in town.

Do they still have a ladder? I never really see it and most calls that might require one I usually see Pleasantview’s ladder and not La Grange… even if it’s a LaGrange call.

They have a Ferrara MVP on order, with delivery expected within a month or two.
