Excerpts from the ChicagoTribune.com:
Three people were injured Thursday afternoon when a Palatine Fire Department ambulance responding to a call was struck by another vehicle.
The crash happened about 2 p.m. when the ambulance was westbound on Palatine Road at Rohlwing Road and was struck by a van that was northbound on Rohlwing. The ambulance rolled onto its side. Two other vehicles sustained minor damage after being hit by the van and a traffic signal.
Two firefighter/paramedics who were in the ambulance and the driver of the van were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

There is only one listed on this website, and Palatine’s website (which looks like it was just updated) shows only one reserve.

I saw several videos of the incident, including an extended one from on the Arlington Cards YouTube page. The whole front of the ambulance was looking pretty bad. Looks like it will be OOS for a while. Hope everyone involved will be OK.
In the one video, I also saw that that A81 was in a new rig. Wonder if they still have the old one around, or has it already been sold or decommissioned? Since A83 is going to be out for a while, they have probably put the Reserve Ambulance in service at Station 83, but that would leave them with no reserve ambulance, but if they still have the old A81 & it is still usable, they will still have an extra.
Probably a very scary situation to be in. Again, hope it all works out.
