Working fire in Harvey 12-6-25

Harvey, Illinois Full Still 12/6/2025

Harvey had a Full Still for a fire in a vacant apartment building. There were multiple areas of fire in the building and crews made a good knock on it with temperatures dipping down into the teens.  Due to the recent layoffs Harvey was only able to respond with 1 engine, mutual aid companies responded to assist.

  That’s unfortunate for the residents of Harvey. All this has happened in the last two months. Two months ago, they had three stations up and running. Now they are down to 1 station with a single engine. The brunt of the work will fall to auto aid FD’s and my guess the Cook County Sheriff for PD.
