Crete and Merrillville are the two in the area I can think of that did it before everyone else. Very sharp looking rigs at both departments too. Crete still has some of their airport yellow apparatus for now as well.

Indianapolis Fire is now gray over red. Peoria switched a few years back.

Crabby, actually gray is becoming a popular color, especially gray over red. Can’t point out too many examples, but Thornton had a gray over red Engine (777), the current Truck 45 and Engine 45 (1996 Telesqurt, repainted) and Ambulances 45 and 145 are all gray over red and look pretty good.

From what I heard one of the 2015 is now a reserve. They have 3 trucks running frontline, this will bring them back up to 4. My guess is both of the KME’s crapped out.

Looks to be no nonsense and sharp.
I guess they couldn’t decide for the top half to be black or white so they compromised with gray.
