Don’t be alarmed if you see a Tinley Park Fire engine responding with Oak Forest firefighters in it… our aging fleet is catching up with us! Thankfully, our neighbors at the Tinley Park Fire Department were generous enough to lend us one of theirs. We officially no longer have a ladder truck (previously a 2001 ladder truck) protecting our multi-story buildings in town. Our reserve fire engine (a 1999) doesn’t have functional emergency lights and can’t be put in service if one of our front-line engines goes down (E39: 2006, E40: 2020)

  Hairy – Fire Service Inc is what makes Fouts good around here. FSI is full of awesome people! Other than that, Fouts is just as good as Alexis and all those other small builders.

  Also, 4 month wait is only possible if Spartan has a chassis available.

  Not sure the taxpayers care who is union and who isn’t. They probably care more about their respective dept. having the equipment to respond to requests for service.

  Mike L., it’s not scab labor because Tinley Park is not a union shop. ” Scab labor” is a term used for non-union employees working at a union shop. It’s no different than an IAFF employee working at a volunteer department. This is a perfect example of department helping department regardless of union/full time status.

  Very gracious of the Village of Tinley Park to share the rig. Irony is an IAFF Local FB page thanking the neighboring department that uses off duty IAFF members for scab labor.

  Oak Forest should look at the fouts bros engine they are built great Franklin pk loves there’s 600,000 and a 4 month wait

  Lucky for them Tinley has a new engine being built maybe they can buy the spare
