Tim I realize that it was built with the 8V-92. I’m just saying that if something happens to it, it would be easier to repower it with a newer 4 cycle. If they can keep it going, great. But they phased those out for automotive use decades ago. Can’t beat the unique sound.

Considering the insane production times and high costs of a new aerial apparatus, it wouldn’t be a bad idea for another department to purchase this providing the main passed the UL test. It can be refurbished with an updated cab, hydraulics and electrical system. That 8v92 will last forever and is emissions free.

Crab it was built with a 435HP Detroit 8v92 in it.

If it’s in good enough shape, a put off would be that old 92 series DETROIT engine. It could be repowered with a newer CUMMINS or DETROIT engine. Those old 2 cycles are getting hard to find people willing to repair them.
