I wonder why they decided to put more compartment space on this version of Engine 51 as opposed to previous versions which had enclosed ladder storage and fewer compartments.

Doesn’t Schaumburg, when they get a new engine, rotate the one that is being replaced, to one of the other stations & put the oldest one in reserve?

Sebastian they do probably get more use than a lot similar sized departments. You have Woodfield, lots of office buildings, lots of commercial, two interstates, and Golf and Higgins in addition to a population of around 75k. At least they are in a position to get new apparatus often, so many other departments aren’t

Beautiful Rig, Amazes me at how Quickly Schaumburg replaces rigs. the old 51 was barely 6 years old. Cudos to them
