All of that is just for looks. It’s not important to be safe for firefighting uses. It only has to have accessible EMS compartments.

I always liked the Spartan product but the body on this thing is atrocious!
How are you supposed to lift the aluminum hose bed cover without risking a horrible fall?
How are you supposed to load the hose bed with the aluminum covers in the way?
I’d like to think this could have been thought out a little better. Not trying to Monday morning quarterback on a department I’m unfamiliar with but there is reason to be concerned for those who work this rig!

Oh look…it already has the fall protection harnesses built into the rear elevator! Everything is so tall, looks like a “disability-in-waiting” from just trying to get out of the damn thing.

Almost the same spec as Orland’s 3 2009 Spartans. South Holland’s deputy worked at Orland.

I’m guessing this is a rescue pumper. Curious why they went with Spartan instead of E-One. Their last engine was an E-One I believe.
